Not every visitor has time to read an article on screen: some would rather listen on the move or between tasks, and for some reading from a screen is hard. The website reader puts a player above every article and reads the text in a natural narrator voice — Azerbaijani in a native voice made for the language. Setup is simple: create a project in the panel, add a few lines of code to your site, and the widget does the rest. Once an article has been voiced, the audio is kept and never generated again: the next visitors play the ready recording.

Set up once, works on every article

You add the code to your site template once: the player appears on every page with that block, new articles included. There are no audio files to prepare or upload. If you edit an article, the new text is voiced the next time the page is opened.

A player that fits your site

The player sits above the article, with play, seek and 1.5x or 2x speed. Its colours can be matched to your design. Only text is read: videos, embedded social media posts and scripts are skipped.

How it works

  1. Create a project In the panel, under “Website reader”, enter your site address, the CSS selector of the article block, the language and the voice.
  2. Add the code to your site Once the monthly subscription is active, the panel shows the ready-made code. Place it at the end of your page template, and the player appears above the block you specified.
  3. Visitors listen The first time an article is opened, its text is voiced and the audio is kept; this can take a little while. Every visitor after that plays the ready recording.

This is roughly what the code looks like. The key and the project number belong to your project: the panel fills them into the ready-made code, so all you do is copy it.

Our Azerbaijani voices

Azerbaijani has two native voices — Sevda, female, and Emin, male — plus emotional styles of the female voice. Templated services list hundreds of voices and not one of them is Azerbaijani: the language is read by a general multilingual voice, and any native speaker hears it in the first sentence. A voice count means nothing without the language behind it. English, Russian and Turkish have native voices as well, so the same script can go out to several audiences at once.
